Application Areas Shield electrical/magnetic waves leaking through circuit components and wiring or apply grounding path formation/step compensation

Conductive Fabric Single-sided, Double-sided Tape

SSC30D : Step Compensation, Grounding

SDC80H : FPCB Fixed, Grounding

Solution
Technical information
  • Ultra-thin conductive fiber tape with a thickness of 20um of conductive fiber and an overall thickness of 30μm
  • Normally, conductive fibers have good breathability, so when making single-sided tapes using conductive adhesives, it is difficult to create single-sided tapes due to the fluidity of conductive adhesives.

What Is EMI Shielding Tape?

EMI shielding tape is a conductive tape that combines a conductive layer — metal-plated fabric or metal foil — with a conductive adhesive, so it both shields electromagnetic noise and creates a grounding path through the adhesive (Z-axis conductivity). It is also called conductive tape, shielding tape or simply EMI tape; all of these names refer to the same product family. Typical applications include FPCB fixing, gap compensation and connector or cable shielding in smartphones, displays and automotive electronics.

Solueta, Korea's leading EMI shielding material manufacturer, supplies conductive fabric, black and cushion type EMI shielding tapes in roll form, with thickness, adhesion and resistance customizable to your requirements. To understand how shielding tape suppresses noise, see our article What Is Electromagnetic Noise?

Frequently Asked Questions

Is EMI shielding tape different from conductive tape?
They are the same product family. The name EMI shielding tape emphasizes the shielding function, while conductive tape emphasizes the electrically conductive material. For the differences between tape types, see the Conductive Tape Selection Guide.
Which type of EMI shielding tape should I choose?
Fabric type for general shielding, grounding and gap compensation; black type where light blocking and concealment are required; cushion type where compression and recovery are needed. Tell us the application area and required properties and we will recommend the best material.
Do you support custom specifications and samples?
Yes. Use the Contact Us button below with your application area, required thickness, adhesion and width, and our sales and technical team will guide you through material selection and sampling.
